Description

Chaste tree (Vitex agnus-castus) is one of the most important medicinal plants for balancing the female hormonal system.
Research and experience show that it regulates the menstrual cycle and increases fertility.
It has a dramatic effect in relieving menopausal symptoms.
Chaste tree berries do not contain estrogen-like substances (phytoestrogens). They affect the hormonal system through the pituitary gland in the brain.

Monks (including those in Israel, by the way) used to grind its fruits to make a coffee-like beverage.
Probably not because of its good taste but because it suppresses sexual desire in men.
However, in women, it actually acts as an aphrodisiac.

Usage instructions:
To enjoy the medicinal benefits of chaste tree:
Crush the fruits in a mortar and pestle or spice grinder, then steep in boiling water. (Pour boiling water over the seeds, cover, and wait 15 minutes).
You can grind the entire amount and store it in the freezer, or grind the daily amount each morning.
The required doses of chaste tree are very low. 1-3 grams per day or even less.
That's approximately half to one teaspoon per day.
