Medicinal Sage:
The common characteristic of most sage species growing wild in Israel is their unique fragrance.
The abundance of fragrances in sage plants has made them sought-after perfume and spice plants, useful throughout history. Due to their special scent, they became sacred plants that were picked only in special ceremonies.
Even today, sage is famous in folk medicine throughout Mediterranean countries and holds a place of honor among medicinal herbs and spices.
Sage was used as a purifying plant for both body and environment.
Medicinal sage leaf tea is beneficial for all body ailments:
It relieves and prevents stomach aches, cures colds, relieves heart area pain, eases menstrual pain, releases gas, relieves headaches and strong coughs.
Gargling with sage tea helps with sore throat and gum inflammation.
Fresh sage leaves are used for teeth cleaning and gum massage.
Additionally, it heals external wounds: for wound healing, crush dried sage leaves and sprinkle them on the wound.
For disinfecting wounds or deep cuts in the body where there is risk of infection, chew fresh sage leaves and place the chewed mixture on the wound.
Burning dried sage leaves is used for purification.

Prohibited for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
