Description
Calendula flowers, or by their Hebrew name ‘cat claws' are among the Asteraceae plants, and have been used for healing purposes for thousands of years.
We have been growing them organically for several years now, and they are a key component of many of our products.
The calendula flowers harvest is done manually, during mid-day while the flowers are at the peak of their blossom.
The flowers undergo dehydration in full shade, preserving their medicinal properties.
Once dried, the flowers are compressed into jars and soaked in oil for three months, in order to extract the most from the active ingredients. The extraction is done manually using cold pressed olive and almond oils.
The extraction process is performed without heating the oil, as to preserve its quality and prevent its oxidation.
The oil produced in the process is of very high quality and possesses extreme healing properties.
It nourishes the skin, making it more elastic, and helps preserve its natural moisture. Anti-inflammatory and soothing to the skin.
Used for treating a variety of skin problems: wounds, burns, inflammations, scars, sun damage and insect bites.
Effective in relieving skin allergies, skin eczema, rash and irritations of the skin.
Rehabilitates dry and cracked skin.
Due to it being a rather delicate oil, and yet possessing such high healing properties, it can also be used internally. It can alleviate and cure mouth aphtha, as well as ulcer within the digestive system. It was even found to be effective against the helicobacter pylori bacteria.
The oil is anti-fungal. Hence it helps treating skin fungal infections as well as vaginal fungal infections such as candida.
Wonderful as a lightly scented massage oil.
A powerful, yet delicate oil. Hence, it is highly suitable for children and babies.
